Dr. Özge Yöntem’in hastanın lateral yanak bölgesine yüzeyel mezoterapi uygulaması

Is mesotherapy a single treatment?

Mesotherapy is a general method in which small amounts of a selected preparation are administered to a target area through multiple superficial injections. It does not refer to a single mixture, dose or indication.

It may be considered for the skin or scalp; however, the level of evidence varies according to the substance used and the treatment objective. The product name, contents, intended use, possible side effects and alternatives should be discussed beforehand.

Why do the product name and purpose matter in mesotherapy?

A decision is not made on the word “mesotherapy” alone without knowing the composition of the product, treatment area and intended objective. Allergies, infection, bleeding tendency, pregnancy and breastfeeding, medications in use and previous injection reactions are assessed.

“Collagen Vaccine”

This name does not identify a single standard product. The contents of the preparation to be used and its intended purpose in the skin should be explained beforehand.

Skin Booster

A general name used for certain injectable preparations intended to support skin quality and hydration. Contents, suitability and expected response vary according to the product.

“Hydration Vaccine”

A name used for injections intended to support the skin's ability to retain moisture. It should not be assumed to be the same product as a skin booster; the contents of the preparation must be assessed separately.

Monitoring the skin's response after treatment

Temporary redness, swelling, sensitivity or bruising may occur at injection points. Assessment is required if a widespread rash, worsening pain, increased warmth, discharge, a persistent nodule or marked discoloration develops.
