Dr. Özge Yöntem’in göz korumasıyla hastanın yanak bölgesine BBL uygulaması

What is BBL (BroadBand Light)?

BBL is a broad-spectrum light treatment in which filters are used to select different ranges of light. It is not a laser. The light filter and device settings are selected according to the target pigment or vascular structure.

It may be considered for selected sun-related pigmentation, diffuse redness, superficial visible vessels and uneven skin tone. Skin tone, tanning, the type of lesion, photosensitising medication and previous procedures all affect the plan.

  • Broad-spectrum light treatment, not a laser
  • Filter selection according to pigmentation and visible vessels
  • Settings selected according to skin tone and tanning status
  • Eye protection throughout the procedure
  • Sun protection after the procedure
  • Dermatological examination first for suspicious lesions

What information is important before BBL treatment?

Not every discoloration is suitable for BBL. Moles and suspicious lesions, a tendency to melasma, active infection, recent sun exposure, skin tone and products or medications in use are reviewed before the procedure.

The correct target

Treatment is not performed based on appearance alone without assessing the cause and depth of the pigmentation or redness.

Filter and energy selection

The wavelength range, pulse and cooling settings are planned according to the target structure and skin type.

Eye and skin safety

Eye protection appropriate for the treatment area is used, and tanning and the risk of photosensitivity are specifically assessed.

Careful follow-up

Expected changes such as redness, a sensation of heat or temporary darkening of pigmentation, as well as warning signs, are explained.

What may occur after BBL treatment?

Temporary redness, a sensation of warmth, mild swelling or darkening of targeted pigmentation may occur. Sun protection and the recommended aftercare are important; contact the clinic if blistering, increasing pain or marked discoloration develops.
