How is dermal filler treatment planned?
Dermal fillers are medical products injected into tissue to support volume or contour in a selected area and soften the appearance of certain folds. The aim is not to transform the face into a different appearance, but to respect the existing anatomy and natural movement.
The anatomy of the lips, chin, jawline, mid-cheek, nasolabial region and under-eye area differs. The product and injection plane are selected according to the area. Marketing names may not describe a single product or standard technique; the product to be used and the treatment goal are explained during the examination.
- Assessment of facial proportions and profile
- A product and tissue plane suited to the area
- Planning that respects vascular anatomy
- Preserving natural expression and movement
- Reviewing previous fillers
- A follow-up and, if needed, intervention plan
How do dermal filler treatments differ by area?
Tissue thickness, movement and vascular anatomy differ in every area. The names below describe only the treatment area or approach; product content, amount and suitability are determined during examination.

“Smart Filler”
This name does not identify a single standard product or formulation. The product to be used, the target area and the limitations of treatment are explained during the examination.
Chin Filler
The chin tip and profile balance are assessed. Product selection and amount are determined according to facial proportions and the tissue structure of the area.
Lip Filler
Lip structure, movement and any existing asymmetry are assessed. Planning is based not only on volume but also on the lip border and harmony with the face.
Tear-Trough Filler
It may be considered for under-eye hollows; not every dark appearance is suitable for filler. A tendency to swelling, as well as skin and vascular structure, is also assessed.
Jawline Filler
The contour of the jawline and balance between the two sides are assessed. Suitability is determined according to bone support and soft-tissue structure.
Mid-Cheek and Cheekbone (“Hollywood Line”)
Midface support and the cheekbone line are assessed together. This name does not imply a single product or a guaranteed appearance.
Nasolabial Filler
The cause and depth of the fold extending from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth are assessed. Direct filler treatment may not be the first option in every case.
