Etkileri ve S\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A carbon peel is a procedure that combines a carbon-based product applied to the skin with selected laser pulses. It is particularly sought for oily skin, acne and the appearance of pores. However, the name alone does not mean that it is an acne treatment or that it permanently reduces pore size.<\/p>\n<h2>What does the procedure involve?<\/h2>\n<p>After the skin is cleansed, a thin layer containing carbon is applied and then targeted using an appropriate laser protocol. The device and pulse mode may vary, so not every \u201ccarbon peel\u201d is the same procedure. Its purpose and limitations should be discussed according to the concern seen in the skin.<\/p>\n<h2>What can be expected for acne and pores?<\/h2>\n<p>Small clinical studies have reported changes in acne lesions and the appearance of pores. However, the number, size and follow-up duration of the studies are limited; these data do not show that everyone will experience the same effect or a permanent result. <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/36422207\/\">A retrospective study of carbon peeling<\/a> also notes this limitation. If active acne is present, the type of acne and standard treatment options are assessed first; a carbon peel does not automatically replace them.<\/p>\n<p>Pores are a normal part of the skin's structure. They may appear less noticeable after the procedure, but it is not realistic to expect them to \u201cclose completely\u201d or become permanently smaller. Depressed acne scars, pigmentation and fine lines are also different concerns; they should not all be assumed to improve with a single procedure.<\/p>\n<h2>What should be discussed before the procedure?<\/h2>\n<p>Tell your physician about any new lesion or one of uncertain cause, marked irritation, infection, recent sun exposure and medications in use. Redness or sensitivity may occur after the procedure; aftercare and sun-protection advice vary according to the protocol used. There is no fixed number of sessions or single preparation list suitable for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>If you are considering a carbon peel, first describe the appearance that concerns you and the skin care you have previously tried.
